The induction programme aims to prepare you for your time with us, working alongside the sixth form staff to provide you with a full insight into life in the sixth form. It is vital that you choose courses that interest you, courses that enable you to progress onto your chosen post 18 pathway, courses where you will want to work independently and challenge yourself to improve your own understanding.
As you complete the induction activities it is important that you reflect on your ability to explore the work at a higher level. You will be provided with an induction activity/ PiXl Post 16 Gateway Subject Progression booklet from each of your chosen courses. This work must be completed by the first lesson back in September and will demonstrate that you are ready to start A level/ Level 3 courses with the appropriate work ethic. Each induction activity/ PiXl Post 16 Gateway Subject Progression booklet will also be assessed and included as part of the first data entry assessment. Those students unable to attend the induction day should access the relevant tasks on The Park Academies Trust Sixth Form website and ensure that they are completed by September.
In addition to the subject specific induction resources, we will continue to deliver a number of post 16 resources to support your transition into the sixth form and beyond (PiXL Post 16 Gateway and PiXL Post 16 Unlock). These have been designed to build on your prior knowledge and fully prepare you for year 12.
We hope that you enjoy your induction programme and please feel free to email either myself, Mrs Barrett or Mrs Rossouw with any questions you may have.
Kind regards,
Mr O RussellAssistant Principal/Head of Sixth Form
