It is important that you make the right choice of subjects to fulfil your aspirations, whether that is a university course, apprenticeship, the workplace or beyond. As well as starting with a suitable number of courses it is important to choose a combination of subjects which match your potential next step or, at the very least, have a high enough value that a number of doors are kept open.
The entry criteria are there to prevent you from making the wrong decision. A levels and Vocational courses are challenging and we need to ensure that you have a good chance of success. Each pathway has a ‘points based’ entry criteria based on GCSE grades. GCSE points are calculated by totalling the numeric grade from the EIGHT BEST GCSE grades. Vocational qualification grades will be converted into numeric grades, e.g. a Level 2 Pass is a grade 4, Merit grade 5 and Distinction grade 6. Our pathways consist of the following options:
