Our Curriculum Maps are aimed at providing a detailed overview of each course on offer for both current and prospective students and parents/carers.
Our Curriculum Maps are divided into the following sections:
Links to KS4: how previous experiences and knowledge gained during GCSE studies underpins the A level curriculum.Intent: setting out the aims of the course, including the knowledge and skills which will be developed.Implementation (by Year Group): the knowledge, the ‘what’ of each subject. Acquiring powerful knowledge is an end in itself and we want to ensure that there is a coherent sequence through the subject and that knowledge can be remembered, not merely encountered. This section provides a clear overview of each year of study, termly Schemes of Work and assessment types.Topic Texts: suggested further reading aimed at developing subject knowledge beyond the classroom.Impact: Review Point timeline of when teachers will judge if the knowledge and skills have been learned, an overview of the subject supports students to build cross-curricular skills, links of Higher Education and Careers in the Curriculum. The Related Documents section contains our KS5 Curriculum Maps.
